Your Perfect Summer Wine & Cheese Pairing
Wine & cheese are and age old pair, so we thought we’d create a guide for you try this summer! But why not have a little fun along the whey?
There’s not a lot feta than a good wine and cheese pairing and it’s a grate way to connect with friends and family! But there’s always that question of, ‘what cheese goes with what wine?’
Don’t worry, we’re here to help! It’s CHEESY peasy!
We decided we wanted to try different milks to keep things interesting! So, we tested out some sheep Gouda for this pairing, and you cheddar believe it was delicious! The sharp flavor of the cheese was just perfect to wash down with a sip of the Teresa’s. Just exquisite!
Last, but certainly not least, we tried a cow’s milk Gruyere. This had to have been my favorite cheese with the wines. Sipping on both of the wines after a nibble of this, especially the Teresa’s Chardonnay, I just melted. I believe all cheeses are perfect, but this one made me cheddar tear it was so good.
Let’s talk Teresa’s Unoaked Chardonnay and Russian River Pinot Noir. Since both wines have a track record of having bright acidity, there are a few cheeses that go gouda with both! Those crisp flavors of both the wines taste amazing with, you guessed it, Gouda. We also went with a Brie and Gruyere cheese, all of them fantastic! But isn’t all cheese?
In all seriousness, the nuttiness and salt from the cheese is what makes these combos so compatible. It bites away at any bitterness in the wine and you are left with a fuller and a fruiter version. One bite of cheese, then a sip of either of these wine is unbrie-lievable!
Next up for this pairing was a triple cream goat brie cheese. Now, if you’re a goat cheese fan, this is a grate one to try! So creamy, so delicious; it curds all your cheese cravings. And once again, the saltiness bring out the fruity flavors in the wines and it’s whey too good to be true. Try this one with a sip of some lightly chilled Russian River Pinot, and you will feel on top of the world. But actually - you gouda try it.
