We’re thrilled to announce the return of our 2nd Annual Vintage Baseball Barnstorm at Balletto Vineyards on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Blending the spirit of history with the vibrant heart of our vineyards, this event promises an unforgettable experience for fans of sports, history, and, of course, wine.

Whether you're channeling your inner Kevin Costner or simply seeking a delightful day out, this event has something for everyone. Vintage baseball, played by the Bay Area Vintage Base Ball (BAVBB) organization, sets the stage for an all-day celebration filled with character, charm, and community.

A Brief History of Vintage Baseball and the BAVBB

Before modern baseball stadiums and ESPN highlight reels, the game looked a bit different. Vintage baseball recreates the sport's humble beginnings by following the rules of the 1886 Spalding rulebook. Think fewer gloves, more grit, and players donning authentic 19th-century attire. The Bay Area Vintage Base Ball (BAVBB), a California non-profit, is dedicated to preserving this rich history. Through their passionate recreations, they transport us to an era when America’s pastime was just finding its footing.

By hosting this event in collaboration with BAVBB, we’re bringing the elegance of antiquity to life. Each swing of the bat and cheer from the crowd is a tribute to the roots of baseball and its enduring spirit.

This four-acre regulation-sized baseball field is a labor of love created in partnership with the hardworking Balletto vineyard team.

Originally built to sponsor the vineyard staff’s baseball league, the Dream Field has become an integral part of our winery’s heart and soul. It's not just a field; it’s our very own slice of ‘Field of Dreams’! On any given Sunday, you might hear the crack of bats, children laughing, and the warm sounds of a community brought together by the simple love of a game.
